Outdoor Learning
At our nature school, we believe that outdoor learning is an essential part of a child's education. That's why we use a child-guided, child-oriented approach to value education.
This approach is based on the idea that children are naturally curious and want to learn about the world around them. By allowing children to explore and discover on their own, we can help them develop a deep love of learning and a sense of wonder about the natural world.
In our outdoor classroom, children are free to roam and investigate, guided by their own interests and curiosity. We provide a range of materials and resources for them to use, and our educators are there to support and facilitate their learning.
This approach has a number of benefits for children. It allows them to learn at their own pace, following their own interests and curiosities. It also helps to develop their problem-solving skills and promotes independence and self-direction.
Additionally, outdoor learning has been shown to have a number of benefits for children's physical and mental health. It can improve their cognitive function, increase their attention span, and reduce stress and anxiety.
Overall, we believe that outdoor learning is an essential part of a child's education and are committed to providing a child-guided, child-oriented approach to value education.
Permaculture Demonstration
Permaculture is a design system that seeks to create sustainable human settlements and food production systems. It is based on the principles of caring for the earth, caring for people, and sharing the surplus. At our nature school, we use permaculture principles to guide all of our decisions, from the way we grow our food to the way we manage our resources.
Our permaculture demonstration site is a living example of how these principles can be put into practice. Students and visitors can see firsthand how we use natural systems and resources to create a self-sustaining ecosystem. We have a variety of food-producing gardens, including annual and perennial vegetable beds, fruit trees, and berry patches. We also have a number of animals on site, including chickens, goats, and bees, which help to create a balanced and diverse ecosystem.
In addition to providing hands-on learning opportunities, our permaculture demonstration site also serves as a model for others who are interested in creating their own sustainable living systems. We welcome visitors to come and see what we are doing and learn more about permaculture and sustainable living. We hope that by sharing what we have learned, we can inspire others to create more sustainable communities and a healthier planet for all.
Adult Enrichment
At our nature school, we believe that learning is a lifelong process and offer a range of adult enrichment programs to encourage continued growth and development. One of our popular programs is focused on food and nutrition, and it is designed to create an opportunity for engagement and interaction between parents and elders with children.
In this program, children have the opportunity to learn from the wealth of knowledge of their elders, while parents and elders are inspired and energized by the curiosity of young minds. This creates a truly mutually learning and engaging process for all involved.
During these sessions, participants explore topics such as healthy eating habits, the importance of a plant-based diet, and how to grow and prepare their own food. We also discuss the environmental and social impacts of food production and consumption, and how to make more sustainable and responsible food choices.
In addition to providing valuable information and skills, these sessions are also a great way for families to spend time together and bond over a shared interest in food and nutrition. They provide a chance for parents and elders to pass down their knowledge and traditions to the next generation, while also learning from the fresh perspectives of children.
Overall, our adult enrichment programs are an excellent way for individuals of all ages to continue learning and growing together in a supportive and inclusive community.
